What is Angel Food Ministries?
Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing grocery relief and financial support to communities throughout the United States. The program began in 1994 with 34 families in Monroe, Georgia (between Atlanta and Athens), and has grown to serve hundreds of thousands of families every month across 35 states. Angel Food Ministries crosses denominational lines and has spread the good news of the gospel of Christ through salvation tracts that are placed in each food order.
Every month Angel Food provides boxes of high quality, cost effective food items at over half off grocery store prices. Each unit contains enough food to assist in feeding a family of four for about one week, or a single senior for almost a month.
Whom is Angel Food for?
Angel Food is open to everyone. There are no applications or pre-qualifiers to participation and no limit to the number of food boxes an individual or family can purchase.
How much does Angel Food cost? How do I pay?
Each month Angel Food Ministries offers a Signature Box, which includes a menu of high quality food items worth over $60 for the low price of $30. An Allergen-Free Box and a Senior & Convenience Box are also available. In addition, you may purchase fruit and vegetables and meats. Your order must be paid in full when you place your order.
NOTE: If you order in person, we currently accept cash, money orders, and food stamps (no checks please). If you order online, you can pay by credit or debit card (a $1 convenience fee will be charged at checkout).
How do I Order Angel Food?

In person, you can place your order on the designated order days at the church, located at 9365 Hooper Road in Athens, Ohio. You must pay at the time you place your order. (Only cash, money orders, and food stamps are accepted. No checks please). At the time of payment, you will be given a receipt, which you should bring with you on distribution day.
You can now order online, and pay by credit or debit card. Click on the link below, and put 45701 as the zip code. The rest of the ordering process is quick and easy. Print your receipt and bring it with you when you pick up your order. Here’s the link for placing online orders:
2010 Order Dates
- Thursday March 11, 2010 :: 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
- Saturday March 13, 2010 :: 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Order Location: Abundant Life Church 9365 Hooper Road, Athens, Ohio.
Order Deadline: Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. No orders made after the deadline will be accepted, and only orders that have been paid for will be submitted.
Distribution Day: Pickup is Friday, March 19, 2010 from 7:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. at Abundant Life Church. Bring something to carry your food in.
PLEASE NOTE :
- Pick up your order on distribution day at Abundant Life Church, 9365 Hooper Road, Athens, Ohio. For directions and a map, click on the "Contact Us" tab and look under "Directions."
- Bring your receipt with you.
- Bring boxes, baskets, bags, or other receptacles to carry your food home.
- Orders cannot be held and there are no refunds once an order is placed.
- Any orders not claimed by closing time on distribution day will be donated to families in need.
